she having started dance at the age of three and a half. she continued on for nine years focusing mostly on jazz, tap, and modern theatre. At age eleven she discovered the thrill of gymnastics, and not long after had her dance mates asking her to flex for them. she was thinking, "Flex what?" Little did she know she had already acquired a set of "pipes" at the tender age of eleven!
she soon had to give up her dance lessons in order to pursue her passion for gymnastics. she carried on for eight years until a back injury forced her to retire. At this time she was enrolled in a program at college which required her to work out at the local gym. This was her first introduction to weightlifting, though she must admit she was the typical cardio junkie, thinking that an hour of cardio a day would make her skinny, and she lifted "mickey mouse" weightsshe I really had no idea what she was doing!
